Festival of lights

When darkness falls, we light up Skellefteå’s new winter light installation and fill the city center with light and music. Join the official inauguration as we walk together through the city center in step with the lights being switched on. Tennessee Road provides the music, and Kamilla Andersson från Norrsken Eldshow delivers a sparkling fire show.

The evening begins with the lighting of our new crystal chandelier and a short inauguration speech. We then continue together along the pedestrian street, under trees dressed in light, towards Hörnellgatan and down to the City Park where a new light installation is unveiled. Finally, we gather again at the square for music, song, and a magnificent fire show.

The tree lighting has been made possible thanks to property owners and businesses in Skellefteå, in collaboration with Skellefteå Municipality and Visit Skellefteå.

Visit Skellefteå is offering mulled wine and gingerbread cookies.

4 PM – Inauguration speech at Nygatan 36 (Synsam) and the light walk begins.
4.30 PM - the light walk ends with live music and a fire show.
