World-renowned soprano Patricia Petibon will visit Sara kulturhus to express declarations of love over the phone in Francis Poulenc's iconic La Voix humaine. Additionally, a fascinating sea excursion awaits with Norwegian composer Kristine Tjøgersen. Claude Debussy's short but delightful Petite Suite sets the tone.

Petite Suite, or Lilla sviten in Swedish, is a true evergreen in the classical repertoire. Debussy's short orchestral suite in four movements is immediately recognizable. Even if you're not familiar with the title, you'll find yourself humming along to the gently swaying, light, and inimitable melodies.

After the break, it’s time for the evening’s main guest, the French coloratura soprano Patricia Petibon. That night, she presents French 20th-century opera at its finest. La Voix humaine by Francis Poulenc is a one-act opera based on Jean Cocteau’s famous play Vox Humana, portraying a woman who bids farewell to her lover over the phone. It’s the perfect piece for Petibon, combining dramatic intensity, vocal expression, and technical ability. The evening’s conductor is Norrlandsoperan’s very own Eduardo Strausser.
