You are warmly welcome to an author talk with Jannike Lundgren and Jens Unosson!
At the center are their new works – In Memory of Laika by Jannike Lundgren and The Air That Could Speak by Jens Unosson – where the stories are rooted in the sparsely populated countryside of Västerbotten and explore themes such as criticism of civilization, animal rights, nature, and culture.
Lundgren’s novel follows Ellen in her everyday work in home care, where life’s big and small moments are reflected through the relationship between humans and animals. Unosson’s lyrical work is an esoteric long poem centered around life on a small farm, raising questions about life, death, and spirituality in the human connection to nature. What unites them both is a deep commitment to some of the most pressing issues of our time – and a desire to listen to what nature is trying to tell us.
