Green Hope
Skellefteå
Title: Green Hope
Technique: Mural painting
Location: Trädgårdsgatan 7
Art consultant: Lisalove Bäckman, Anna-Lena Lundmark
A mural that turns a construction waste-container into a reflection on mindful living. With a vibrant, hopeful mural depicting nature; lush plants growing from cracks in walls, trees sprouting from discarded furniture. Contrast this with imagery of excessive consumption: overflowing trash, wasted materials and chaotic consumerism. Nature reclaiming urban spaces. Message: People often over-consume resources for trendy renovations, generating unnecessary waste. Green Hope symbolizes the need for balance for a future where design embraces sustainability, reuse in harmony with nature.
Aleksandra Paranchenko
Artist with a passion for public art and meaningful creation. As an experienced As an artist with many years of experience in monumental painting, I have had the privilege of transforming both public and private spaces through art. My works are not just decoration – they create dialogue, evoke emotions and tell stories that reflect the identity of the place and the values of the community. Public art is often about inclusion and sustainability, and I strive to embody these values in my projects. Each work is an opportunity to strengthen the bonds between people and their surroundings. By combining aesthetics with social engagement, I create art that not only inspires, but also encourages reflection and a sense of belonging. I place great value on working in teams with other artists. That is why I am particularly happy to create something inspiring together with Ann-Marie – exactly the kind of person who shares my artistic vision and aesthetic taste.

Ann-Marie Backstrom
An artist who in his practice has used a variety of techniques such as watercolor, oil painting, canvas and sculpture, often with the aim of showing the small and raising various phenomena to the surface. Art in the open - Social dimensions, ecologies and transformations was part of the title of the course I completed last year at Konstfack. It addressed my growing interest in artistic expressions in public space. Many artists like me are driven by a vision to influence and show something positive in the big and the small, but how do we reach out with this and who do we actually reach? I am incredibly grateful for this platform, Konstens Väg in Skellefteå, where Aleksandra and I can together raise thoughts about the interaction of nature with us humans. In a time of change and development, we can create a place and a forum for experience and interaction between man and nature through art. How can we together create the best ecologies?
