Uppsala Cathedral Singers gives concert in Kusmark Church

Kusmark, Skellefteå

Uppsala Cathedral Singers visit Kusmark Church
Uppsala Cathedral Singers is the smallest choir of Uppsala Cathedral. It was founded in 2008 and consists of 16 members, all with extensive experience from Uppsala’s rich choral tradition. On Saturday, May 3 at 4:00 PM, the Cathedral Singers will give a concert in Kusmark Church. On Sunday, May 4, they will sing in the church service together with the Motet Choir.

Several members of the Cathedral Singers are also professional musicians. The choir’s ambition is to explore and interpret music that is not often performed. Their repertoire spans from the earliest music to newly composed pieces, often written specifically for the choir. Among the composers featured are August Söderman, Otto Olsson, and more contemporary figures such as Sven-David Sandström and Sven-Erik Bäck.

The concert is titled Our Father, and will include music by, among others, Palestrina, Mendelssohn, and Stravinsky (Pater Noster / Our Father).
