The opening of Wallstreet Festival

Welcome to the opening of Wallstreet Festival – an art festival running until the end of August. The opening marks the beginning of a summer where Skellefteå’s shared public spaces will be filled with art, creativity, and new perspectives.

On Sunday 1 June, we’ll gather at Trädgårdsgatan for an opening ceremony together with artists, the project team, and festival representatives. We’ll celebrate with music, container art, and colourful flags created by young people in collaboration with artist Jacob Dahlgren.

During the day, you can also take part in a creative workshop at Saraplatsen with illustrator Stina Wirsén and Klara Wirsén Suchowiak. There will also be a miniature art walk led by artist Anna Kristensen.

Wallstreet Festival creates a meeting place where unique ideas take shape in public spaces – through artworks that both become part of the physical environment and temporarily bring colour to our shared places.

Skellefteå is one of three municipalities participating in Wallstreet Festival 2025. The national goal is to present 1,000 public artworks across Sweden.

The festival runs from 1 June to 31 August.
