Welcome to the 2025 Veterans Day celebration in Skellefteå. This event brings the community of Skellefteå together to honor and recognize the military and civilian veterans who have served to protect our country and our freedom.
Veterans Day in Skellefteå is a joint event organized by the Peacekeepers of Västerbotten, Skellefteå Municipality, the Church of Sweden, the Swedish Soldiers’ Home Association, the Home Guard and others.
The commemoration will occur through a ceremony at the memorial stone, located at the "veterans' site" by the river in the Nordanå area.
Program Summary:
13:00: Welcome address. Mingling, coffee, and conversation.
(The Swedish Soldiers’ Home Association will provide coffee and share information about their activities. The Home Guard will also present their work.)
13:30: Ceremony (Speeches, music, wreath laying, and reflection)
14:00: Ceremony concludes. Continued mingling and refreshments are available.
