VAFF Film Festival

At this year's film festival, we will be showcasing a lot of short films made by filmmakers from Västerbotten. Attendees can also look forward to exciting lectures with Tove & Sofie Forsman and Jakob Arevärn, and enjoy a film and music fest at Mullberget with mingling! Everyone is welcome, admission is free.

Friday 30/5:

• This year, we are honored to host three exciting speakers! Tove Forsman and Sofie Forsman, two of Sweden's most sought-after screenwriters who have worked on productions like Young Royals, The Playlist, Barracuda Queens, and the Nelly Rapp films. Jakob Arevärn, the acclaimed director and screenwriter behind documentaries like EPA and Folkrace, and the short film EPADUNK.
• Screening of the Open Section - anyone connected to Västerbotten can showcase their film here.
• Party at Mullberget! On Friday evening, Film in Västerbotten and Mullberget invite you to a themed event of film and music – featuring pizza, performances, panel discussions, and a film music quiz!

Saturday 31/5:

• Screening of the Lightweight, Middleweight, and Heavyweight sections! Young filmmakers from Västerbotten aged 0-26 compete with their films; winners in the Middleweight and Heavyweight categories directly qualify for the November Festival in Trollhättan. The awards ceremony and audience prize voting will follow the last film screening.
• Film Coffee meets VAFF. We conclude VAFF on Saturday evening in the best way possible – with dinner, delicious treats, and enjoyable company! We provide the food, you bring the good vibes, win-win! At Hubben.
