Normal Reactions to Abnormal Events

Skellefteå

You're invited to a powerful and important lecture with Sam, who shares personal experiences of growing up with violence, sexual abuse, addiction, self-harm, and prostitution.

The lecture, "Normal Reactions to Abnormal Events," sheds light on what happens to children who experience severe adversity, and the long-term consequences trauma can have — especially when support is lacking. Sam offers both a deeply personal perspective and practical tools for anyone who interacts with children and young people, whether professionally or personally.

“I want to help more adults understand what children go through – and how we, together, can make a difference. The more people who understand, the more children can get help in time.” – Sam

This lecture is for anyone who wants to better understand children's mental health and how we can create safe, supportive environments for young people who have experienced difficult things.
