Welcome to a historical walk through our local history exhibition Storsia together with Maja Östlund, museum guide at Skellefteå Museum (Note! In Swedish).
During the one-hour tour, you’ll be taken on a journey through the democratic development of our region – from early forms of consultation and local governance to the people’s growing influence and the struggle for women’s suffrage.
Maja highlights stories of individuals, movements, and decisive events that have shaped our place, while also placing them in a broader context. How was our region influenced by the ideas and changes spreading across the world? And how have local people fought for their right to be heard? This is an engaging and thought-provoking guided tour on the path of democracy – seen through a local perspective.
The tour will be held on two occasions: Tuesday, October 14, and Wednesday, October 15.
Participation is free of charge, but registration is required due to limited seats.
