I have chosen to highlight some places and works in my hometown that are close to my heart. They whisper of memories, touch emotions, and awaken dreams - of what once was, what awaits, and what never was.
Johan Lindström is an artist, illustrator and animator from Skellefteå, educated at the Gothenburg School of Art. Humans have always been a central motif in his art, where portraits and depictions of human figures function as a way of exploring identity, power and the human experience.
In recent years, Johan has taken a particular interest in people he has met in Skellefteå's public spaces. Through his Through his choice of color, lines, and design language, he creates immediate, loving portraits of people in motion or still moments – waiting, on their way somewhere, in between.
In conjunction with the Wallstreet Festival in Skellefteå, the work A Moment in Between is presented – a series of images that highlight precisely these transitions and gaps in people's lives. It is about moments when we find ourselves between something that has been and something that has not yet come, in movement or at rest, in anticipation or in reflection.
