Strandholm and the Stone Age in Västerbotten.

Bygdsiljum, Skellefteå

Researcher Peter Holmblad talks about the people who lived in Strandholm, at Stora Bygdeträsket, and near Bygdsiljum during the Stone Age.

In the spring of 1966, a farmer found several stone axes in the field at Korvbäcken, on the Strandholms homestead. The find site turned out to be a strange settlement from the Neolithic Age. Who lived here and why? We follow the ancient clues along Bygdeträsket and Rickleån to the Baltic coast and all the way to the Ukrainian steppe. Join us on an archaeological journey of discovery!
