In Memory of Laika is Jannike’s second book and tells the story of Ellen, who works in home care and the people she meets through her job — lives that both impact and move her.

On another level, it is a reflection on humanity’s place on Earth and in history, the sense that we have lost our way and are adrift. But above all, it is about the relationship between humans and animals, and how we see ourselves.

Jannike lives in Ersmarksbodarna. She is a trained librarian but now works as an assistant editor alongside her writing.
