Preparedness Day
Guldtorget, Skellefteå
On Saturday, 27 September, we are organising Preparedness Day at Guldtorget (the town square) in Skellefteå. Come along and learn how you can contribute to preparedness for crises or war.
On the program:
- The rescue service will display a fire engine and provide information
- The Swedish Home Guard has personnel in various positions on site, including dog handlers and tracked vehicles
- Studieförbundet Vuxenskolan will be present with a book table and study materials on preparedness gardening, community cooperation, etc.
- Skellefteå Municipality provides information on energy preparedness and on the municipality's own crisis preparedness.
- Hunting competition with prizes and a fire steel crash course with Linus Danielsson, preparedness coordinator at Skellefteå Municipality and former elite soldier
More activities may be added.
The preparedness day is organised by Skellefteå Municipality.
The event will be conducted in Swedish.

Facts
Preparedness Day is part of the Preparedness Week, which is an information campaign that takes place in week 39 every year and is led by MSB (the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency). This year's theme is ‘You are part of Sweden's total defence’, where the focus is on highlighting the importance of us all contributing to be able to cope with crises and possible war.
