One year in the Church in One hour
Landskyrkan, Skellefteå
Jubilee in Word and Song – Landskyrkan Church Choir Turns 100!
We celebrate with a grand concert featuring special guests in Landskyrkan, Saturday September 20 at 6:00 PM.
In 1925, Sveriges Radio began its broadcasts – the very same year Skellefteå Parish Church Choir was formed. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not. What’s true is that, for one hour, you will experience an entire church year condensed into a single concert.
Feel free to imagine which hymns, songs, and works you would choose! Then come and hear which ones we have chosen – and discover the stories behind those choices, the choir’s history, and a collection of anecdotes reflecting both the joy of singing and the many joys of life itself. Because, according to our narrator, Karin Lundström Rawden, the meaning of life is to have fun and grow together. And in “together” – you are included.
So come and count along: How many pieces has our conductor Mikael Jacobsson managed to weave into his brand-new Advent and Christmas medley?
You are warmly welcome to this combined concert and storytelling evening.
