Simon Issát Marainen is known as one of the greatest contemporary traditional yoikers in Sápmi. His expression is deeply rooted and uncompromisingly Sámi. He is said to be able to move freely between Western tones and 1000-year-old tradition and is described as a broad and deep voice artist.
