Sara Lidman: Västerbotten's women
Stage 4, Sara kulturhus, Skellefteå
This is how Sara Lidman encouraged Algot's women to resist closure at a demonstration on December 3, 1978 in Pansalen in Skellefteå. She probably also included herself in that group of women, because she was truly made to let the authorities know what was going on! Sara Lidman was not only a prominent writer but also an outstanding speaker and agitator. Throughout her life, her commitment to human rights and environmental issues was a burning fuse. She became an obvious part of the FNL and the Vietnam debate and in issues such as labor law and forestry. And she was controversial, for example, a bomb threat meant that a performance at Skellefteå City Library in 1975 had to be canceled.
In this 45-minute program, Ellenor Lindgren and Tomas Marklund give a taste of Sara Lidman's broad public speaking skills and we delve into what made Sara Lidman such a sought-after speaker and agitator. What is unique about her way of addressing her audience?
The program can be seen before the performance Stygn at 7:00 PM the same day.
