Portraying violence - conversation

Stage 4, Sara kulturhus, Skellefteå

"ARRIVE ON TIME! Unused free tickets will be released 10 minutes before the start of the event"

In the performing arts, we would like to talk about the difficult and painful. But to do so requires many conscious choices. How do we show the problems without simultaneously recreating them? Can we talk about, problematize and portray violence with artistic freedom and with the goal of reducing violence? What responsibility do we have?

In the panel we have three people who have all worked on problematizing violence in the performing arts. Oskar Thunberg, director and actor currently working on the performance What is Violence?, David Väyrynen, writer and actor in Det skjuts för lite, and Johanna Salander, artistic director and director at Västerbottensteatern who has long problematized violence and masculinity in the performing arts.
