Meet Dennis Lyxzén, former frontman of Refused, together with Vidar Burman Melin, drummer of Kjells Bänk, and Alice Elveros, bassist and singer of Röda Naglar, in a conversation about what courage means in their musical lives. Hosted by Per Strömbro.
"Courage is about following your own inner voice. To dare to do things your own way. To find strength in being different." That's what Dennis Lyxzén says, who was the frontman in the 90s of Refused, the Umeå-based hardcore band that fought for its beliefs with fervently committed lyrics about Marxism, animal rights and straight edge.
In the conversation about standing up for one's cause, showing artistic courage and courage, Dennis meets two representatives of a new generation of committed musicians. Thoughts on the concept of courage are discussed with two representatives of the young committed music scene; Vidar Burman Melin in Kjells Bänk, a young punk band that has made a big impact on the Skellefteå music scene, and Alice Elveros, one of the three tough punk girls in Röda Naglar. What does it take to be able to maintain your integrity and do your thing in an industry that can make tough demands on adaptation and alignment?
Of course, there will also be live music - Kjells Bänk delivers punk in an unplugged version.
