When artists Frida Andersson and Fredrik Furu interpret Swedish folk classics and pop songs
from a Finnish-Swedish perspective and spiced with own stories from life arise
something unique and personal.

“We both grew up in Finland, but in Swedish and with the fantastic Swedish folk and pop treasure. Now we want to highlight it in our own way and tell our own experiences and stories, how we first came into contact with the songs and what they awakened in us. This way you get to experience the music from a new perspective. This is our way of carrying the music forward.”

The concert performance consists of interpretations by folk legends such as Vreeswijk, Taube and Olle Adolphson, but also by storytellers such as Ulf Lundell and Lars Winnerbäck and pop stars such as Lisa Ekdahl, Mauro Scocco and Niklas Strömstedt.

Frida and Fredrik also perform their own material in Swedish and also do versions of each other's songs. The musical arrangements are made by the renowned Finnish-Swedish composer and arranger Mikael Svarvar.

Briefly about the artists:
Frida Andersson from Ekenäs now lives in Stockholm and was recently awarded a prize by Sweden's Composers and Lyricists for her artistry. She has released several albums in both Swedish and English and is currently performing the duet "Hörde en fågel" together with Bo Sundström from Bo Kaspers Orkester.
Fredrik Furu from Jakobstad in Ostrobothnia has 14 number-one hits on Finnish-Swedish radio. His song "En gång i livet" was the most played song in Swedish in Finland in 2023 and Fredrik has also toured several times with the now deceased Jack Vreeswijk.

The concert performance is arranged by the Norden Association Skellefteå, the Norden Association Västerbotten and the Adult Education Association in good collaboration with Västerbottensteatern.
