Zacke & Malmfältens Rock Club
Stage 2, Sara kulturhus, Skellefteå
Zacke is one of northern Sweden's most influential rappers and lyricists. His latest album Noir tells stories about people and places that risk being overshadowed by the new industrial revolution. The album is characterized by questions about change, faith in the future and doubt. At the Storytelling Festival, his work is transformed into a musical performance, where Zacke, together with Malmfältens Rockklubb, lets the music take on a new form.
Malmfältens Rockklubb consists of musicians from Norrbotten with extensive experience working in different genres. When they step into Zacke's world, the expression shifts from electronic and sampled productions to a more stripped-down and organic experience. The live instruments give the music a different form and give the stories new life on stage.
The result is a performance that moves between hip-hop, poetry and storytelling - where contemporary times and the human voice are at the center.
About Zack:
Zacke already debuted 2010 with the album “Visst är det vackert” – followed by “Renhjärtat” in 2013 – but had his real breakthrough in 2016 with the critically acclaimed (and two-time Grammy nominated) album “Fattigkussen”. Since then, he has established himself as one of Sweden’s most unique voices in Swedish hip-hop, known for his sharp social commentary, his musical originality and his obvious stage presence.
In 2021, Zacke released his fourth album, "Money. Freedom. Zakaria Jamal." and was nominated for a Grammy for the third time, while also receiving SKAP's award in the category "Lyricist of the Year" with the motivation: "Zacke raises hip-hop's central questions of class and identity from a Norrbotten perspective. With a rare artistry and a flair for lyric writing, he is one of Swedish rap's most unique talents. A cultural bearer who put Luleå on the hip-hop map."
