The exhibition Habitat , which has emerged in collaboration with Skellefteå Konsthall, contains older works and new works in various techniques - watercolor, ink and chalk drawing, grand and small sculptures installed on islands built from natural elements from Västerbotten and Roslagen. The surrounding nature, especially the wild and untouched, is not always visible in Klara Kristalova's visual world but constitutes an important part where her peculiar figures have a central place.
Klara Kristalova, born in 1967 in Prague, lives and works outside Norrtälje. She was educated at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm (1988–1993) and is a member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. Kristalova established herself with several exhibitions and public commissions in Sweden before she had an international breakthrough in the early 2000s.
