Sami Language Week October 20-26

The City Library, Skellefteå

During week 43, the Sami language is celebrated. The week exists to draw attention to and promote the Sami language and is celebrated simultaneously in Norway, Sweden and Finland.

The following will be happening at the City Library during the Sami Language Week October 20-26:

21/10 Author talk with Moa Backe Åstot

25/10 Storytelling performance: The noaidi and the Reindeer

26/10 Sunday story in Lule Sami and Swedish

In addition to this, we display signs with words and books in the various Sami languages.
