ABOUT

Mila Thoors is an organist, conductor, and choir director with an extensive and diverse educational background from institutions such as the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, the School of Music in Piteå, and the Rostov State Conservatory in Russia.

As a freelance organist, she performs at a high artistic level and has given numerous concerts throughout Sweden and Europe. She has also worked as a conductor for several orchestras, including the Arboga Wind Orchestra, the Flen Wind Orchestra, the Volvo Music Corps, and the Eskilstuna Symphony Orchestra. Among her large-scale choral and orchestral projects are Mozart’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, Duke Ellington’s Sacred Concert, A God Disguised (Förklädd Gud), and Puccini’s Suor Angelica.

Mila Thoors’ field of research includes recording previously unknown organ music from former Soviet republics such as Ukraine, Latvia, and Uzbekistan. She currently serves as principal organist in the Eskilstuna Parish.
