Västerbotten's longest sandy beach

Burträsk, Skellefteå

In the middle of Burträsket, along Långnäs bluff, lies Västerbotten’s longest sandy beach. The magnificent sandy beach, which stretches more than 500 metres, is child-friendly and suitable for all kinds of beach activities, including beach volleyball and water games. Another plus is that the water at the bathing area is relatively shallow.

On a hot summer day, the bright, fine-grained sand will warm the soles of your feet as it seeps between your toes. And, on a clear, sunny day with hardly a breeze in the air, it is not uncommon to feel that you are in much more southerly latitudes.

Långnäs bluff stretches towards Smedjeholmen, which is near the community grounds and Burträsk Camping. The south side of the bluff also has a few smaller beaches for those in search of some privacy, but the waters are deeper and they are not as child-friendly.

For avid gardeners, there are two viewing gardens along the road to Långnäsbadet. In addition to being sights to behold, they also sell plants and local products there.

Welcome to the pearl of Burträsket lake!

Directions

Many Burträsk locals take a boat over the lake to Långnäsbadet. But you can also get to Långnäset by car. There are signposts along route 364, in Ljusrotet between Lappvattnet and Bodbysund, guiding the way to the beach.
