In Kalvträskbygden there are good opportunities for hiking in a beautiful and hilly forest environment with a total of 50km of hiking trails. The trails start at Kvarndammen, Kalvträsk. In 2014, the hiking trails were upgraded through clearing, footbridges, new signs and better marking, new map systems and overview maps were also developed, the trails consist of different stretches around Kalvträskbygden.
The longest stretch is a circular loop of a total of about 30 km, this trail goes over heights, streams, and rivers, through forest and bog with a view of Avaberg with its beautiful views of the lakes Holmträsket and Vitträsket. Here you can make a short stop to visit the infamous bear cave (at your own risk) at Vitträsket.
