Eldkvarn - It's never too late to quit

Stage 1, Sara kulturhus, Skellefteå

The summer's farewell concerts with Eldkvarn attracted enormous attention and fans from all over the country flocked to the hometown of Norrköping. After the success, it is now clear that all of Sweden will have to say goodbye to the band. The band will come to Sara kulturhus on August 16 for their only gig in northern Norrland.

Perhaps one shouldn't be surprised by the band's goodwill either, given what bassist Tony Thorén usually answers when asked how long the band will last: "It's too late to quit!"

Or as Carla puts it: "When you sit in the middle of it all and play the same song night after night, you can feel very tired of it all. A few years later, you feel that it would be so much fun to play the same songs. Evening after evening”.

Like few other bands in Sweden, Eldkvarn with Plura Jonsson's unique lyrics have depicted both the proud history of their old hometown in songs such as: "3:ans spårvagn gemonm ljuva livet", "Alice", "27" and also the capital in songs such as "Stockholms Stjärnor ". And like few others, Plura has portrayed love relationships so naked, warm and vulnerable. Seeing Eldkvarn live leaves no one unmoved. You are floored by their interaction and enormous radiance.

With the acclaimed albums "Himmelska Dagar" and "Kungarna från Broadway", the band became a national anthem, followed by the cult-rated Tältprojektet & the tour "Circus Broadway" with invited guest artists such as Thåström, Ratata, Peter LeMarc and Marie Fredriksson.

Since then, a lot of water has flowed under the famous bridges and Eldkvarn has continued to play and release critically acclaimed albums while the band members also pursued successful solo projects.

Carried away by the enthusiasm of the Norrköping public after what was supposed to be the band's last gigs, Eldkvarn is now gathering the troops again for a big farewell tour and getting ready to also say goodbye to their audience in all of Sweden!
