The Blue Thread – a storytelling performance

Nordanå, Skellefteå

Skelleftebygden's Storytelling Association presents a performance where pitch black and winter white, composition and space intertwine like a blue thread through the embroidery of the textile group Fimbria.

The stories originate from the same theme that the textile group Fimbria used for their embroidery throughout the year. In addition to the words pitch black, winter white, space, and composed, we also related to the same form: a circle and a blue thread. We in the storytelling association were also inspired by Fimbria's embroideries that emerged from this theme.

The stories slowly but surely took shape and were eventually woven together into “The Blue Thread”, a poetic storytelling performance where music guides the audience between eight storytellers on stage. A storytelling performance about the events of life.

The performance is presented with support from Skellefteå Municipality.
