Shop locally

We are proud of the wide range of shops in Skellefteå Centrum, with several personal and unique shops in a wonderful mix with the well-known chain stores. 168 steps between two shopping centres in the centre, shopping areas in the south and in the north. A wide range and many that work for both ecological and social sustainability.

Eat locally produced food

There are several opportunities to buy food directly from the farmer, either from one of several farm shops, market halls or in our local Reko-Ring. Buying locally produced food reduces the environmental impact in several ways, including shorter transport distances. It also provides fresher (tastier) and more nutritious food, supports your local producers and it always feels good to know exactly where what you eat comes from.

Eat Västerbotten

The Västerbotten County Administrative Board is showing the way to all restaurants serving local food and drink from Västerbotten during the period 16-22 September. Your choice as a consumer and chef is important - help ensure a more robust Västerbotten.

You can find our restaurants serving 100% local food and drink from Västerbotten* on a plate or a whole menu during the sustainability week here. All you need to do is book a table at the restaurant and you'll be part of the Eat Västerbotten campaign straight away. Something that you probably also want to tell others, please use the tag #atvasterbotten.

*100% Västerbotten, except for flavourings and cooking oil.
