At long last, it's time for a high-caliber homage to the legendary rocker Eddie Meduza, whose real name was Errol Norstedt. Since his passing in 2002, Eddie Meduza has achieved cult status and is deeply loved by thousands of fans across the country.
The show, The Eddie Meduza Shåw, premieres at Nöjesteatern in Malmö on November 7, featuring one of Eddie’s biggest fans, Ralf Gyllenhammar from the band Mustasch, as the frontman.
Errol Norstedt was a multifaceted personality, often described as a musical genius. In The Eddie Meduza Shåw, the audience is taken on a journey through his life—from being a bullied and rootless 12-year-old who had already lived in over 30 places, to becoming a celebrated rock star breaking attendance records and achieving chart success, all while struggling with personal challenges.
Eddie Meduza was often misunderstood. Many failed to grasp the irony and tongue-in-cheek humor in his lyrics. Over time, however, Errol Norstedt has finally received the recognition he deserves, transitioning from being loathed by representatives of "high culture" to being widely celebrated today.
Errol's songs have been reinterpreted by numerous artists, including some of Sweden’s biggest dance bands like Lasse Stefanz.
The Eddie Meduza Shåw – Dåren ä lös ("The Madman Is Loose") is a wild and heartfelt tribute to one of Sweden’s greatest artists. The show promises to swing between laughter and tears, featuring nearly 30 of Eddie’s most beloved and controversial songs, including “Gasen i botten” (Pedal to the Metal), “Reaktorn läck i Barsebäck” (The Reactor Leaks at Barsebäck), “Ragga runt” (Cruising Around), “Midsommarnatt” (Midsummer Night), “Volvo,” “Punkdjävlar” (Punk Devils), and many more.
In spring 2025, The Eddie Meduza Shåw – Dåren ä lös will embark on a major Swedish tour, stopping at Sara kulturhus on March 30, 2025.
